A 3-year-old boy was found walking alone in only his underwear on Concord Avenuet. Multiple 911 calls were made Monday morning about the unsupervised child. A community member stayed with the child until authorities arrived, according to the Monroe Police Department Facebook post.

Officers identified the boy and determined this was the second time in recent months he had been found unsupervised in the same area. Police said Tanisja Clyburn, 26, the boy’s mother, allegedly left him at a relative’s home without informing them before leaving. She was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor child abuse and is being held at the Union County Detention Center pending release conditions.

Monroe Police Department said child protective services have been notified and are investigating.
