A 76-year-old woman has died from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run incident in a Kroger parking lot. Heather Keller, 44, has been charged in connection with the case, according to local news reports. The incident occurred last Sunday at the grocery store’s parking lot on South Church Street in Murfreesboro. The victim passed away on Wednesday, and authorities are considering additional charges against Keller, who was arrested the day after the incident on multiple allegations.
According to WSMV, Keller is currently charged with reckless aggravated assault, felony reckless endangerment involving a vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, failure to immediately report an accident, failure to render aid, and driving on a revoked license. These charges may be updated following the victim’s death. Keller was apprehended approximately one day after the crash, having left the scene without contacting authorities or assisting the victim. She is being held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center with a bond set at $28,500.
Further details from WGNS Radio indicates that the Murfreesboro Police Department has updated the victim’s age from 55 to 76. The police also confirmed that an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. It is also noted that Keller lives approximately one mile from the Innsbrooke Kroger store where the incident occurred.
