Nashville Police Department reports that 27-year-old convicted felon Jessie Knowles has been arrested in connection with the August 2 shooting on Lafayette Street. The incident, which was captured on surveillance video, shows Knowles approaching two men before discharging a firearm, injuring both.
Following the issuance of a $190,000 bond, Knowles remains in custody. The arrest occurred yesterday, and according to the Nashville Police, during the apprehension, Knowles attempted to flee from TITANS Unit detectives. A stolen pistol and marijuana were found in his backpack. This pistol has been identified as the same firearm used in the shooting incident.
Both victims were hospitalized with single gunshot wounds and have since been treated. Meanwhile, authorities are continuing their search for a second suspect believed to be involved in the shooting. Details about this individual have yet to be disclosed.
Knowles is facing multiple charges including two counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and being a felon in possession of a weapon. Additional gun and drug offenses are also being levelled against him in light of the items found during his arrest.
