Eric Scott, 26, a Nashville caregiver, has been accused of using the bank card and personal information of a vulnerable adult to make unauthorized transactions, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI). Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Newsroom reported that the investigation began in May after a referral from the Tennessee Department of Human Services Adult Protective Services.
Between May 26 and May 27 Scott allegedly made fraudulent withdrawals, purchases, and other transactions. WKRN reported that on Thursday last week, with assistance from the Metro Nashville Police Department, TBI agents arrested Scott and charged him with theft of property and fraudulent use of a credit card, both over $1,000, as well as identity theft and financial exploitation of an elderly or vulnerable person over $1,000.
Scott is being held at the Davidson County Jail on a $17,500 bond, WSMV reported. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information has been released.
