The Nashville community was confronted with troubling news as Alexander Donahoe, a 28-year-old teacher at Jere Baxter Middle School was arrested on a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor. The arrest was conducted by detectives from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
As reported by the Nashville government's official website, the investigation started in March. It was initiated after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children highlighted an IP address from Nashville, which had been used to search for sexual images of minors. Subsequent subpoenas to the Internet service provider traced the IP address back to Donahoe, who is currently under the scrutiny of law enforcement.
Upon his arrest, Donahoe admitted to possessing child sexual material. Law enforcement proceeded with a search warrant at his home, where they seized electronic equipment for further examination. The findings and Donahoe's admission have led to his incarceration, with bail set at $100,000.
