Thousands of residents across multiple northern California cities have been dealing with an internet and TV service outage since yesterday morning, where the Xfinity internet was first reported to be down around 9 a.m. in areas including Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, Lodi, Los Banos, and beyond, as noted on Xfinity's service status webpage. The disruption has been attributed to significant "network damage," leaving customers disconnected and seeking updates on when services will be restored, as reported by ABC10.
A car collision with a utility pole in Rancho Cordova caused an outage affecting Xfinity and Comcast Business subscribers. Along with Rancho Cordova, Clovis, Fresno, Madera, Mendota, and Perkins also experienced service disruptions. Many customers turned to social media to express frustrations and request updates on restoration. Initially, the company expected to resolve the issue by 7 p.m. yesterday, but according to The News, the repair is now projected to be completed by around 5 a.m. today.
The incident has remained isolated to Xfinity's network, as alternative service providers such as AT&T Fiber, Sonic, Fidium, and Optimum have reported no similar issues.
