A deadly shooting on Bourbon Street in New Orleans' Eighth District has left one person dead and three injured. In the early hours of September 28, NOPD officers were dispatched following reports of gunfire in the popular nightlife area, according to a statement from the New Orleans Police Department.
At approximately 2:22 a.m., officers arrived to find two women and one man with gunshot wounds. Declared deceased at the scene was one of the female victims. The other two victims, the remaining woman and the injured man, were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Nearby, a third female victim was found with a graze wound near the intersection of Saint Charles Avenue and Canal Street, who also received treatment at a local hospital, as reported by the New Orleans Police Department.
New Orleans Police Department are investigating a shooting as detectives work to find out who was involved and why it happened. So far, few details are available, and no suspects have been identified. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and cause of death after the autopsy and after the family has been notified.
