Palm Beach County has been honored as one of the Healthiest Employers in Florida for 2025, landing in fifth place in the state's large employer category, which encompasses companies with a workforce of over 5,000. This marks an inaugural occasion for the county being recognized for its dedication to the health and wellness of its employees.
The Healthiest Employers awards are part of a national program that recognizes companies making significant investments in employee well-being. The initiative highlights organizations that enhance benefits, foster a supportive workplace culture, and implement programs designed to improve overall health. In light of these advancements, "This recognition is a testament to Palm Beach County’s commitment to the well-being of our employees," said County Administrator Joseph Abruzzo. He also added, “We are proud to be among the top organizations in Florida and remain dedicated to supporting our workforce, especially when it comes to health and wellness,” according to a news release.
A proprietary scoring system, a number-cruncher's dream, is behind the Healthiest Employers ranking. With a rubric scoring from 1 to 100, the system dives deep into six key areas: strategy, culture, engagement, communications, programming, and outcomes. These scores funnel into an index that pits organizations against each other, stratified by company size, as stated on the county's website.
The program, powered by Springbuk, provides employers with data to improve workforce health and manage healthcare costs.
