A Palm Beach County man is facing serious charges after allegations surfaced of him performing lewd acts with a teenage girl he initially encountered at a skate park and further connected with on the online gaming platform Roblox. Tyler Metelus, 20, has been booked into the county jail on counts that include lewd or lascivious battery and molestation, as reported by CW34.
The events leading up to Metelus's arrest involve an alleged sexual encounter that occurred after the victim, a young girl whose age was not disclosed but is cited as being between 12 and 16, left her home following an augument with her mother and contacted Metelus. She then used an Uber to travel to Loggerhead Beach where Metelus picked her up, they spent time at the beach and later relocated to his residence, here a kiss they shared escalated into acts the girl described as unwelcome and pressured, although she reportedly stated that he did not force her to do anything, according to her statement in the arrest affidavit detailed by WPBF.
Further details from the investigation reveal that the girl's mother was unaware of her daughter's acquaintance with Metelus and only learned about the incident when her daughter reported it to law enforcement. The victim explained that she had initially met Metelus at the Astro skate park in Greenacres, and they subsequently started communicating through the social features available in Roblox; she said she didn't realize he was 20 until later.
Amid the investigation, Metelus reportedly confessed to detectives about the nature of their encounter, admitting to having oral sex with the victim and to the other acts described by the girl in the affidavit, the arrest report details. The victim told authorities she felt pressured and disgusted, signifying a breach of trust from someone she considered a friend; no prior conversations about engaging in sexual intercourse had been documented between the two. She emphasized this during her account of the events that transpired that night.
Tyler Metelus is currently held without bond, and the case continues to develop as authorities process the provided evidence and testimonies.
