Young athletes need to secure their team jersey to complete the registration process, because details matter on and off the field. Families new to the Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department offerings are mandated, to submit a birth certificate at the 8th Street administrative hub. With the deadlines for basketball and soccer registration landing on October 15 and October 22, respectively, parents are encouraged to act quickly to ensure their kids a spot in the game.
With age divisions stretching from 5 to 15, the basketball program offers both co-ed and gender-specific leagues. All participating children are placed in their rightful division by their age as of August 31, ensuring that the playing field is as level as it can get. Meanwhile, skill assessments for basketball, sponsored by Academy Sports & Outdoors, will tip off the week of October 27—promising to highlight the up-and-coming stars of local hoops.
The indoor soccer program doesn't fall far behind, with its co-ed format welcoming kids aged 6 to 15. Across various age groups, players are set to demonstrate their prowess in skills assessments starting November 3, with practices and matches scheduled for the ease of families on Fridays or Saturdays.
