The San Diego County Sheriff's Office has reported the arrest of two repeat offenders involved in a significant retail theft at an Ulta Beauty store in Rancho San Diego. The incident, which occurred on June 16, resulted in a loss of approximately $2,480 worth of goods. Both suspects were said to have orchestrated their actions with one entering and exiting the store to fill an orange Ulta bag with merchandise, and the other waiting in a gray Acura sedan, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
San Diego County Sheriff's deputies later identified the suspects, who were also linked to various theft cases across the region, from Chula Vista and La Mesa to San Diego proper. The Sheriff's Office detailed how one suspect had an active felony warrant and was on probation, while the other, fleeing the scene, had a history of theft, fraud, and stolen vehicle convictions that made them eligible for a felony theft charge under PC 666.1(a).
The coordinated efforts of the deputies culminated on July 8, when the suspects were arrested and faced multiple charges, including grand theft and conspiracy. Additionally, a search warrant executed at their residence resulted in the recovery of stolen items, illicit drugs, and an ensuing confession.
