The gears of excitement are in motion at the Miami Beach Convention Center, where the Miami International Auto Show is showcasing both vintage charm and future-forward automotive engineering until October 5. Early reports from Local 10 indicate the event goes beyond a static showcase of polished vehicles, offering attendees the chance to ride along on an indoor track designed to simulate real-world driving conditions.

These visceral test drives, according to track manager Sergio Armenta in an interview with Local 10, include a variety of terrains and challenges. "Much of the track has components of a race track. It has curves, a launch area, chicanes," Armenta detailed. The show's educational endeavors are on full throttle, aiming to demonstrate the nuances of electric vehicle handling and capabilities. For instance, the track concocted for Camp Jeep enables visitors to experience steep angles and rugged terrains, underscoring the brand's prowess. “You’ll hear people screaming but they’ll be fine. All Jeeps have low center gravity, not top heavy, and can handle all the terrain out here,” Armenta assured.

Beyond the adrenalized trials, the event pays tribute to automotive history with a fleet of painstakingly restored classics that echo the spirits of bygone eras. From models dating as far back as 1918 to gleaming relics of the 1960s, there's a palpable nostalgia resting beside the promise of future innovations.

South Florida car enthusiasts don't need to rush through the indoors for their fix of automotive splendor— the outside exhibit is just as riveting. According to a Facebook post by Miami International Auto Show, the exterior showcase includes "Classic Mustangs, Sunshine Corvettes, Vintage Volkswagens, Exotic Porsches, and Supercars that will stop you in your tracks." On display during weekend hours from 11 AM to 2 PM, the car owners are also on site, eager to divulge the stories behind their revered machines. Tickets are available online at MiamiAutoShows.com.
