A man was fatally shot in Ocean Beach last night, prompting an investigation by the San Diego Police Department, as the clock pushed close to midnight yesterday. According to a press release from the San Diego Police Department, the incident was first reported at 11:29 PM when gunfire erupted in the vicinity of 5000 Newport Ave.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a Hispanic adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. Despite their immediate life-saving efforts, the man died. The violence reportedly spiraled from a dispute in a parking lot, where the victim is said to have punched one man, only to be shot by the man's companion, with both suspects described as White males fleeing the scene on foot.
