San Marcos resident Weston Strawn found himself in cuffs and facing grand theft charges after an investigation led detectives straight to his doorstep. Detectives acting on a lead swept into an apartment on Smilax Road yesterday to serve a search warrant. According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department news release, Strawn was arrested outside his apartment en route to his vehicle.
A thorough search of Strawn’s living quarters and detached garage revealed a notable collection of stolen trading cards. These cards, ripped from the heart of a vending machine in West Mission Road during two brazen thefts, were part of a haul estimated at $4,500. But the spoils didn't end there, detectives uncovered additional stolen goods linking Strawn to another theft, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department reported.
