
San Francisco Police Department apprehended a 42-year-old male, Daniel Patrick Rodriguez Jr., in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred at the crossroads of Junipero Serra Boulevard and Ocean Avenue on Wednesday, SFPD News reports. Officers received the call around 4:38 PM and, upon arrival, located a male victim with critical injuries from a stab wound. Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures, but the victim later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
After a thorough investigation by the SFPD Homicide Detail, Rodriguez Jr. was located and arrested this morning in Tuolumne County. At the time of capture, the suspect’s arrest involved the coordinated efforts of SFPD's Homicide Detail, Citywide Plainclothes Team, Strategic Investigations Unit, Technical Services Unit, and Tactical Teams. He now faces murder charges. However, the investigation remains open and active, and the department is still encouraging anyone with further information to step forward and either call or utilize the Text-A-Tip service available.
Following the incident, Interim Police Chief Paul Yep conveyed his sympathies and affirmed the department's commitment to justice, Hoodline reported, "My heart goes out to the victim and his family in this horrific incident," and "We will not rest until this suspect is in custody."
