Yesterday afternoon, a house fire broke out in Southeast Portland’s Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood, quickly spreading to a nearby home. The fire was first reported around 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of Southeast 54th Avenue and Southeast Lambert Street. Portland Fire & Rescue responded promptly and managed to bring the fire under control. According to KGW, the flames had started to extend into the neighboring yard and house, leading to a focused effort to extinguish the blaze.

The fire was severe enough to be classified as a three-alarm, requiring crews to act quickly not only to extinguish the flames but also to address the risk of structural collapse. At one stage, as the fire intensified, Portland Fire and Rescue issued a warning of an "imminent roof collapse" at one of the affected homes, a detail shared by KOIN. The hazardous situation was contained by 3:20 p.m., with the fire brought under control.

The fire left three adults without a home, as their residences were destroyed. No injuries were reported during the incident, according to emergency services in Portland.

Portland Fire & Rescue acknowledged the support of neighboring Clackamas Fire, whose assistance played a key role in quickly controlling the fire. "They would like to thank Clackamas Fire for their help in putting out the fire," Portland Fire & Rescue spokesperson Rick Graves told KATU.
