
Two individuals accused of repeatedly stealing from an Ulta Beauty store in Bellevue were apprehended by detectives from the Violent Crimes Division on Wednesday night. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the suspects, Jakhouria Shaw, 20, and Eriyonn Shaw, 18, face multiple theft charges following an investigation by the Organized Retail Crime Unit.
Jakhouria and Eriyonn Shaw were discovered in a vehicle on South 8th Street, at which point their arrest took place. Among the charges, Jakhouria faces 14 counts of theft of property, 11 counts of theft of merchandise, and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Her bond has been set at $118,000, and she remains in custody.
Eriyonn Shaw's charges include three counts of theft of merchandise and two counts of theft of property. Her bond was set at $23,000, after which she was released. The series of thefts at the beauty supply store prompted an in-depth investigation by authorities, spotlighting the ongoing challenges retailers face with organized retail crime.
The specifics of the thefts and the value of the merchandise stolen have not been disclosed. The police department, however, notes that such crimes add a burden on the local economy and retail businesses, complicating measures for loss prevention and security.
