The partnership between U.S. Polo Assn. and The Palm Beaches Marathon promises to turn the annual race into an even greater spectacle, with the recent announcement that the global apparel brand will become the new title sponsor. Set to take place on December 13-14, the partnership marks a strategic alliance between a significant local sporting event and a company whose influence spans over 190 countries. According to a statement obtained by CBS12, Ken Kennerly, owner of U.S. Polo Assn., expects the marathon to be showcased around the world, highlighting the event's broad participation from "over 46 states and 24 countries."
Held in downtown West Palm Beach, the U.S. Polo Assn. Palm Beaches Marathon will offer runners a scenic course alongside the waterfront and palm-lined streets. As the event is a Boston Marathon qualifier, it attracts a bevy of participants, from elite runners to those seeking to enjoy Florida’s winter warmth. According to interviews with WPBF, J. Michael Prince, President and CEO of USPA Global, has shared the U.S. Polo Assn.'s pride in sponsoring an event so deeply rooted in the Palm Beach community. In his announcement, while sporting tradition and community spirit were being celebrated, registration fees were also disclosed – $130 for the Marathon and $100 for the Half Marathon, with the 10K set at $60 and the 5K at $45.
The race weekend will not only encompass the full and half marathons but will also include shorter races such as a 5K and 10K. A Health and Fitness Expo is also planned to coincide with race packet pickup, offering the latest in health products, fitness services, and race information. The Expo will be at the Meyer Amphitheatre on December 12 and 13, as described in a CBS12 report.
Beyond the race itself, the event’s impact extends to charitable works with local charities benefitting from the race proceeds. Details regarding the specific charities have yet to be announced. WPBF 25 is returning as the Official Broadcast Station of the race, promising extensive coverage of the event across digital channels and a live broadcast on the morning of the marathon. Excited to extend the partnership as explained in a WPBF statement, president and general manager Caroline Taplett looks forward to promoting community connection, supporting local business, and inspiring race participation across the globe.
