Utah State University Museum of Anthropology is opening its doors wider to the community with its latest initiative, Saturdays at the Museum, slated to kick off Oct. 4. According to USU Today, this series of monthly events is geared towards families seeking a blend of education and entertainment, spanning a diverse range of subjects from the science of volcanoes to the intricacies of Japanese fashion. The free program is designed for all ages and will run through May 2, 2026, in Old Main room 352.

Molly Cannon, museum director, emphasized the inclusive nature of the series, saying, "Saturdays at the Museum offer an opportunity for us to come together and explore the fascinating field of anthropology. We design engaging activities for all ages that examine what it means to be human," as per USU Today. Upping the volunteer opportunity ante, USU student Sascha Baldauf remarked in an interview obtained by USU Today about the museum's synergy with volunteers, "As a student in the department, I really enjoy the Saturday events at the museum because they are great volunteer opportunities and good ways to get connected with the community through fun and educational activities."

Each event will offer hands-on activities that are aimed at firing up curiosity and merging learning seamlessly with enjoyment. Participants are invited to deep dive into global traditions, history, and science via interactive experiences suitable for every member of the family. The museum's outreach efforts through this program reflect a commitment to fostering cultural awareness and making anthropology accessible to a wider audience.
