Two individuals have been detained by the Weber County Sheriff's Office concerning a shooting that left three injured, including a young child. According to FOX 13, officials arrested 19-year-old McKinzi Mana Sundquist and 18-year-old Michael Robles Gaisbauer on Wednesday. Deputies were summoned to a large gathering in the early hours of Sunday in Weber County, where they discovered the victims and several vehicles fleeing the scene. Sundquist and Gaisbauer were apprehended days later.
It has been announced that one of the victims from Sunday's shooting has succumbed to their injuries. Now suspected of murder, Gaisbauer faces charges of aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, and multiple counts of felony discharge of a firearm. After the shooting, he confessed to fleeing and discarding the weapon, KSLTV reports. His girlfriend, Sundquist, was seen at the shooting location and is also in custody.
As the investigation continues, Sundquist's role in the incident is under close scrutiny. Multiple witnesses interviewed by investigators place her at the scene alongside the suspected shooter, as noted by KUTV. Reports suggest that she, along with Gaisbauer, may have been involved in the argument that led to the tragic outbreak of violence.
Despite the arrests, the Weber County Sheriff's Office is still on the hunt for the actual shooter. Sundquist, although interviewed by the authorities, reportedly provided little cooperation to the efforts of the investigation. The community remains in shock as a 5-year-old girl recovers alongside other victims, and as such, a tragic conclusion hangs over this case.
