
At approximately 1:21 p.m., a residential fire on the westside of Indianapolis caused several people to be displaced from their homes. The incident took place at a property located at 3353 W Michigan St. and, fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection to the blaze, as reported by the Indianapolis Fire Department via a social media post.

The occupant of the affected home informed the firefighters that he believes the source of the fire was "unattended burn barrels in the back yard" that spread to the house, in the absence of vigilant oversight. The fire department is currently investigating to confirm the cause and assess the full extent of the damage. The exact number of individuals displaced by the fire has not been disclosed, however, efforts are on the way to assist those affected.
Local community organizations and neighbors have reportedly started to rally support for the displaced residents, providing them with essential items and offers of temporary accommodation.
