
An 18-year-old man from Westland was fatally shot outside a strip mall in Ann Arbor last Friday. The incident happened near Packard Street and Platt Road. The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries. His name has not been released, as reported by ClickOnDetroit.
Ann Arbor police arrested three people after a car fleeing a crime scene crashed into a tree near Lorraine Street. The suspects include two teenagers and a juvenile, who face firearm-related charges, while 19-year-old Jahmal Jones has been charged with open murder. Ann Arbor Police Chief Andre C. Anderson said, "Our investigation has revealed this was a targeted shooting, another tragic example of senseless gun violence," according to CBS News Detroit.
Community members expressed concern following the incident. "Just another sad case of gun violence. It’s such a shell shock today," said Darius Hampton, a local barbershop employee, in an interview with Hoodline.
