Residents of Rainier Valley were struck with a wave of concern after an armed carjacking incident took place late Monday night on the 3200 block of Rainier Avenue South. The Seattle Police Department responded to the situation, according to a report by SPD Blotter.
At approximately 11:31 p.m., two individuals, brandishing handguns, accosted a 20-year-old man and a woman who were inside their parked vehicle. One of the suspects, exposing the passenger to the firearm's muzzle, opened her door, while the other, confronting the driver, demanded they both relinquish the car after pointing a weapon in his direction. While trying to push the gun away and start the car, the male victim was pulled out of the vehicle by his collar, leaving behind a black security uniform and equipment. The female victim's purse, containing a phone and identification, was also reported to be inside the stolen car.
The victims sought refuge in a nearby business to contact law enforcement, as stated in the SPD Blotter. Despite their immediate efforts conducting an area search, Seattle Police officers found no sign of the stolen vehicle. Thankfully, no physical injuries were sustained by the victims of this distressing event.
SPD's Robbery Unit has taken charge of the unfolding investigation, working diligently to unearth what preceded the felonious exchange. Detectives are scrupulously combing through evidence and leads.
