A Boynton Beach Police Department detective posing as a 15-year-old on the messaging app MeetMe led to the arrest of 48-year-old Jesse Jacobs of Boynton Beach. Investigators said Jacobs was told the fictitious teen’s age but still requested sexual acts and explicit photos.
CBS12 reported that Jacobs arranged to meet at the Nova hotel but later changed his plan, suggesting he would pick the minor up from school and take her to his home.
According to Port St. Lucie Talks, police made contact with Jacobs at his residence around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday last week.
Upon his arrest, Jacobs admitted to communicating with someone he believed to be a teenager but claimed he did not plan to meet at the hotel. He was charged with solicitation of a minor to engage in sexual conduct and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
Jacobs was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
