In an effort to aid the community and tackle food insecurity, Broward County District 7 Commissioner Alexandra P. Davis, along with the City of Pembroke Pines, is teaming up with Farm Share to offer a helping hand to those in need through a free Drive-Thru Food Distribution Event. According to the City of Pembroke Pines' official announcement, the event is slated for Saturday, November 8, ensuring that eligible residents can access essential supplies without burdening their already strained budgets. The distribution will begin at 10 am and run until 1 pm, or until supplies run out.
This food distribution initiative is set to unfold at the South Florida State Hospital Grounds, located at 800 Cypress Drive, Pembroke Pines, where volunteers and staff will direct vehicles through the appointed lanes there the attendees will receive the food with minimal contact, maintaining the safety and efficiency of the process. Residents looking to take part in the event are asked to register in advance through BrowardFarmShare.eventbrite.com.
