Chicago police have arrested 26-year-old Isaiah Martinez following a shooting incident that resulted in one fatality and a second victim injured. According to a press release from the Chicago Police Department, Martinez, a resident of the 1800 block of N. St. Louis Ave., is facing charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. The victims, a 26-year-old female who succumbed to her injuries and a 36-year-old female who survived, were shot on September 13, 2025, in the 3400 block of W. Wabansia Ave.
The official statement reported that members of the Chicago Police apprehended Martinez on October 20, 2025, at around 6:35 p.m., near his place of residence. Martinez has been identified as one of the offenders involved in this violent episode that has since ended to utterly disrupt the fabric of a community. Investigators worked diligently to piece together the events leading to the arrest. He is due to appear for a detention hearing at a court located at 2600 S. California today.
