The Sunrise Water Authority hosted an event celebrating two years of the Sunrise Corridor Community Vision Project. The gathering brought together residents, elected officials, and regional partners to reflect on community-led planning efforts for the area north of the Clackamas River, as reported by Clackamas County.
The project began with workshops and listening sessions and has since produced a community-backed blueprint for the corridor’s future. The plan addresses local neighborhoods, transportation systems, and green spaces, marking significant progress for participants to recognize, according to the Clackamas County.
Local volunteer Mishayla Richardson, a member of the Sunrise Corridor Leadership Group, spoke at a recent event, saying, "It’s been amazing to be part of something that truly listens to the community," and "Everyone’s voice matters here. You can see the pride people have in shaping what this area will become — not just for today, but for the next generation." The Sunrise Corridor project is entering a Coalition Building Phase, focusing on implementing projects and strengthening partnerships while continuing its collaborative approach, as stated by the Clackamas County.
