
Authorities in Palm Beach County are conducting an investigation after construction workers discovered what could be human remains at a Lake Worth building site. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office confirmed, workers at the construction site located at 4489 Davis Road came across the unusual find just after 3 p.m. on Monday.
Deputies who arrived at the location reported finding what appeared to be a femur and pelvic bone on the property, according to an NBC Miami article. In response, the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office and personnel from Florida Gulf Coast University were promptly notified of the discovery and a formal recovery operation began the following day.
A second forensic team from Florida Gulf Coast University is scheduled to continue the meticulous process of sifting through the Lake Worth site today in hopes of uncovering any additional remains. As Local 10 News reported, "All recovered skeletal remains will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination and identification."
While the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding their death are still shrouded in mystery, officials are determined to piece together this grim puzzle. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is managing the ongoing investigation, and further information is expected to be released as their inquiry progresses.
