In a move to recognize the contributions of military service members, the Town of Davie has launched a Veterans Voucher Program, which begins today. According to the town's announcement, the program is set to distribute $30 meal vouchers to 100 eligible veterans for use at select Davie restaurants.
To be eligible to collect a voucher, veterans are required to personally appear at the Pine Island Multipurpose Center, bringing with them proof of both their Davie residency and veteran status. These documents include a valid driver’s license or utility bill for residency verification, and one of various forms of military identification such as a DD214, valid Florida Driver’s License with Veteran Designation, or a Military Retirement Card. The distribution is to continue from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., starting on today through November 7, or until vouchers are exhausted.
The vouchers, which hold no cash value and do not cover alcoholic beverages, can be redeemed between November 7 and November 16. Participating eateries include Geronimo’s Grill, That’s a Wrap Sandwich Co., and Black Jack’s Rum Bar and Grille. For more details on how to participate or to learn more about the program, veterans and interested parties can visit the dedicated webpage or reach out directly to Chad Pezoldt via email at [email protected] or via phone at 954-797-1151.
