Lucas Morena has been arrested nearly a year after a fatal head-on collision on Interstate 95 in West Palm Beach that killed Linton Kelly. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Morena’s blood alcohol level was well above the legal limit, and tests also detected THC, ketamine, and fentanyl, CBS12 reported.
The crash occurred on November 28, 2024, when Morena drove a white Volkswagen Jetta in the wrong direction on I-95, causing Kelly’s vehicle to overturn. Morena showed signs of impairment at the scene and was hospitalized, where warrants were obtained to test his blood and DNA.
A warrant for Morena’s arrest was issued on July 15, and he was taken into custody on Friday last week. He faces charges of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide, with bond set at $50,000, according to his mugshot posted by palmbeach__mugshots on Instagram. Morena remains in custody as legal proceedings continue.
