El Paso families looking to jumpstart their children's education, take note: Transmountain Early College High School (TMECHS) is throwing open its doors for an informative Program Night on October 24. Parents and prospective students will have the chance to familiarize themselves with TMECHS's offerings, which allow students to graduate with both a high school diploma and an Associate's Degree from El Paso Community College.
Principal Robert Stives emphasized the school's commitment to higher achievement in a message: "At Transmountain Early College High School, we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to achieve more, and to dream big, work hard, and graduate with a head start on their future," as per El Paso ISD. The school is not only paving the way for high schoolers to earn college credits but also boasts a collaboration with the University of Texas at El Paso, enabling students to get involved in university-level classes while still navigating the final chapters of their secondary education. It all adds up to a significant leg-up as they embark on careers in the STEM fields.
TMECHS's approach to education is built on rigorous coursework paired with hands-on research and real-world experiences, priming students for the demands of both college and the professional sphere. With faculty members, most holding advanced degrees, there’s an emphasis on a nurturing environment that upholds excellence as the baseline and prioritizes sustaining close connections within the community.
