Fort Lauderdale residents and commuters were given a sigh of relief as city crews worked overnight to repair a damaged water service line near 2750 N. Federal Highway. According to an update published on Fort Lauderdale's official website, the repairs were completed and northbound lanes of N. Federal Highway at NE 26th Street were reopened, restoring normal traffic flow.
The initial notice informed the public of the imminent repairs yesterday, at 4:45 p.m., and preparation began promptly at 8 p.m. When the issue first arose, two northbound lanes were closed, pushing drivers into a tight squeeze with one remaining open lane. Motorists were advised to be attentive to posted signs and proceed through the area with heightened caution. As often the case in these situations, residents and travelers in the area were asked for their patience.
Throughout the duration of this infrastructure hiccup, City of Fort Lauderdale's Customer Service Center remained a point of contact for those seeking information or wishing to express their concerns. They provided updates and assistance via their usual line at 954-828-8000 and the email address [email protected].
