Valley Center became the site of a violent altercation earlier this month, resulting in the arrest of four individuals on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office, the incident unfolded at the Rincon Travel Plaza on the Rincon Reservation just after 10 PM on October 4. Responding deputies found that a group had attacked a man in the parking lot, with one suspect brandishing an assault rifle.
Law enforcement swiftly established a perimeter and apprehended Steven Brickhouse, Jordan Redfern, Daniel Villa, and a 17-year-old female juvenile in connection with the attack. Following the initial arrests, deputies carried out search warrants at the residences of the adult suspects. Their discoveries were alarming, locating a cache of 21 firearms tied to Brickhouse. The arsenal included three Special Purpose Rifles, fully modified automatic handguns, ghost guns, and more, as detailed in the sheriff's office report.
Brickhouse, who was out on bail for previous charges at the time of the arrest, faced a litany of additional charges. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility for being a felon in possession of a firearm, owning a machine gun, and possessing a silencer.
