In an effort to combat hunger within their community, the Franklin Police Department has launched a partnership with the local nonprofit OneGenAway. The collaboration is focused on hosting a food drive aimed at providing relief to families who are struggling to put food on their tables. Starting today, residents are invited to contribute by dropping off non-perishable food items to help their neighbors in need.
Those interested in donating can find the collection bins in the Franklin Police Department lobby located at 900 Columbia Ave. These bins will be accessible Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and exceptionally this Saturday during PumpkinFest, as reported by the City of Franklin's official website. The initiative extends the opportunity to contribute to a broad audience, reinforcing the sense of community the department seeks to nurture.
Police Chief Deb Faulkner emphasized the spirit behind the drive: "This is about neighbors helping neighbors," she told the City of Franklin. Faulkner highlighted the department's pride in working alongside OneGenAway, ensuring that the donated food reaches those families who need it most.
