
A fatal crash occurred on Highway 224 in Clackamas County last Saturday around 11:34 a.m. when a Toyota Corolla, driven by 51-year-old Candida Rodriguez of Gresham, entered the highway from SE Amisigger Road and was struck by a westbound Dodge Ram 2500. Rodriguez died at the scene, while her passengers, 32-year-old Nathon Zintkala Melbourne and a 13-year-old girl, sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital, according to the Oregon State Police.
The Dodge Ram driver, 59-year-old Kirk Andrew Friedman of Portland, was not injured in the collision. Authorities confirmed the crash happened near milepost 15 and involved Rodriguez’s vehicle entering directly into the path of the truck, as reported by the Oregon State Police.
Highway 224 was closed for about four hours last Saturday following a crash. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Clackamas Fire, and ODOT responded to the scene to investigate and manage traffic. Details on the cause of the crash are still under investigation, as stated by the Oregon State Police.
