The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal double shooting that occurred early Friday last week in a Walgreens parking lot in Northwest Miami-Dade. Authorities responded around 2 a.m. after receiving a ShotSpotter alert near Northwest Seventh Avenue and 95th Street, where two men were found dead—one inside a vehicle and the other on the ground nearby, as per a WSVN report.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced both victims dead at the scene. Detectives recovered two firearms and observed bullet holes in the Walgreens building and a black Chevy Tahoe, according to Local 10. Evidence markers were placed throughout the area, which remained closed during the investigation.
Family members gathered at the scene as the Medical Examiner’s Office removed the bodies. Detectives are not searching for additional suspects at this time. Witness Gregory Wilson told Local 10 that it appeared the two men were shooting at each other.
The preliminary investigation indicates the deceased individuals were the only ones involved in the incident.
