A La Vergne man has found himself on the wrong side of the law after an imaginative but false narrative of an armed robbery he reportedly experienced in August on Interstate 24 was unravelled by police to be nothing more than a fabrication. According to WSMV, the supposed victim claimed that assailants brake-checked his black Chevrolet Camaro then splattered his windshield with eggs, prompting him to pull over, where he said masked and gloved figures robbed him at gunpoint.
However, the La Vergne Police Department investigated these claims and found them to be purely fictitious, revealing that the individual had bought the eggs himself and was responsible for their presence on his car before reporting the alleged crime which theoretically endangered the community, but in reality, there was no threat since the robbery never took place and no suspects were fleeing towards Nashville as previously reported. The department reminded the public that "filing a false report is a serious crime that wastes valuable time and resources," as obtained by a statement from the WSMV article.
The tale took another turn when police issued an arrest warrant, and with assistance from the Murfreesboro Police, the man confessed to making up the entire incident.
