In a somber turn of events on Clearwater Place in Lawrenceville, a domestic shooting has claimed two lives, leaving the Gwinnett County community searching for answers. According to a press release by the Gwinnett County, officers responded to the scene after receiving a call about a person shot around 9:41 am yesterday. The responding officers discovered the bodies of a man and a woman, both deceased from an apparent gunshot wound, inside a bedroom at a residence located in the 600 block.
Initial investigations suggest that the incident was domestic in nature and that the two individuals were known to each other, however detectives are still unraveling their exact relationship and circumstances leading up to the tragic event, as they question witnesses and crime scene technicians meticulously process the scene for evidence, in hope to piece together what transpired in the fatal encounter. Gwinnett County Police have indicated there are no outstanding suspects currently being sought in connection with this apparent murder-suicide scenario, with the identities of the victims withheld until next-of-kin can be notified.
The arrival of the medical examiner is expected soon and will provide the official cause of death. Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the case.
