
A man is fighting for his life following a traffic collision in Boulevard Heights. The accident, which involved a Ford F-150 and a Zhiwei Scooter, occurred yesterday morning, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Around 12:05 a.m., police responded to a call at the intersection of Morganford Road & River Des Peres. They found that while traveling southbound with a green light on Morganford, the Ford made a left turn onto Carondelet, as the Scooter—which was traveling northbound on Morganford—struck within the intersection. This led to a severe collision between both vehicles.
The driver of the scooter, a 49-year-old man, sustained critical injuries and was quickly transported to the hospital by EMS. His condition is reported to be unstable, as per the emergency services that arrived on the scene. The driver of the Ford F-150, identified as a 44-year-old man, miraculously escaped the collision without injuries.
The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under active investigation by the Accident Reconstruction team. With the driver hospitalized, the team will dutifully piece together events, working to understand the moments that led two paths to cross with such violent consequence.
