An early morning dispute at a Fort Lauderdale 7-Eleven led to gunfire today, leaving one man in critical but stable condition. According to WSVN, the argument between two patrons escalated until one man shot the other. Fort Lauderdale Police Department reported that the incident occurred approximately at 4:30 a.m. outside the convenience store, located on the 2900 block of East Sunrise Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. As per a store clerk's account, which was obtained by WSVN, the shooter had brought the victim into the store after firing the weapon. It was then that the authorities were alerted. The gunman subsequently fled the scene, with police suggesting he may have left in a light-colored sedan.

NBC Miami shared video footage that shows the ensuing investigation, with police tape cordoning off the area and detectives interviewing witnesses. Several law enforcement vehicles were observed around the convenience store as officers conducted an on-site investigation.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue and is presently in critical but stable condition. The search for the suspect was ongoing, with law enforcement encouraging anyone with information to step forward. "Police said the gunman fled the scene, possibly in a light colored sedan," reported WSVN. Informants can contact Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS, with the possibility to remain anonymous and potentially be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.

After the crime scene been thoroughly processed by the police, the 7-Eleven reopened for business.
