Early this morning in Miami, a man fell into the Miami River near 114 Southwest North River Drive. Authorities responded around 5 a.m., and witnesses at the scene attempted to help before the man went under the water, WSVN reported.
Local 10 reports that Miami Fire Rescue Dive Team located the man and provided life-saving assistance. He was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
The cause of the fall is still under investigation. Authorities are working to determine how the incident occurred, while the man remains hospitalized.
