A man was shot and carjacked on Wednesday night outside a bar on Bell Road, Nashville. According to Nashville police, detectives are now following up on active leads to identify the perpetrators behind the incident.
The 37-year-old victim, whose identity has yet to be disclosed, was reportedly dining in his vehicle after ordering food from the bar when he was assaulted. The instance escalated quickly when an unidentified suspect pulled open the victim's car door and proceeded to pistol whip him. This brutal encounter rapidly spiraled into a struggle which led to the man being shot multiple times. Following the gunfire, the two assailants managed to flee in the victim's car.
After the altercation, emergency services rushed the victim to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is currently being treated for injuries that, thankfully, have been reported as non-life-threatening. The nature and extent of his injuries, however, remain undisclosed.
