Art lovers and cultural vultures, take note: The Deering Estate is spreading its wings to Delray Beach with "Marmoris," a new exhibition featuring works of its Artists-in-Residence (AIR) program, set to take place at The Arts Warehouse. This collaboration, part of the Deering Estate AT program, aims to shuttle the creative fruits of Deering Estate's AIRs to the public's eye beyond the Estate's grounds. Free to all, the exhibit will run from November 7, through January 24, 2026, kicking off with an opening reception on November 7 from 6 pm to 9 pm. The exhibition "Marmoris," which taps into the vein of the Deering Estate's rich archives, showcases a bounty of artistic expressions sprawled across a variety of media like painting, sculpture, and installation. Each piece in the exhibition, according to the estate's release, "bears traces of its surroundings," a testimony to the immersive inspiration that the estate's grounds prod into its resident artists. Free-spirited creators like John William Bailly and Karen Rifas, among others, throw their diverse stylistic hats into the ring, serving up an artistic dialogue influenced by South Florida's unique natural and historical scenery.
Not to be outdone, The Arts Warehouse is a community-focused venue that mainlines local vibrancy and creative expression straight into the heart of Delray Beach's Pineapple Grove Arts District. This rehabilitated warehouse, managed by the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, bustles with 15 private studio spaces, art workshops, and special events aiming to foster growth through artistic engagement, as detailed by the county's website.
Located in Miami, the Deering Estate serves as a house museum, cultural center, and ecological field station. Recognized on the National Register of Historic Places, it is also one of Miami-Dade County’s seven designated “Heritage Parks.” The estate continues to play a vital role in preserving the region’s history while supporting its cultural and recreational life today.
The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and The Deering Estate Foundation, Inc. play a key role in supporting the Estate’s cultural programming—highlighting the value of public investment in the arts.
