In a recent operation by McMinnville Police, a traffic stop has resulted in multiple drug and firearm charges against two individuals. According to a social media post by McMinnville Police Department, K9 Axel, a trained narcotics detection dog, assisted officers during a stop on Wednesday, when a white Toyota Camry was pulled over for speeding.
The car contained driver Michael Gonzalez, 55, passenger Sandra Gonzalez, 32, and a six-year-old child. Following an alert by K9 Axel to the possible presence of narcotics, officers conducted a thorough search. They discovered digital scales, residue, numerous pills, drug ledgers, and two firearms inside the vehicle. During the interaction with the police, the passenger reportedly produced a large bag of a crystal-like substance from her person and confessed to their intent to distribute the drugs in McMinnville.
The ensuing charges for Sandra Gonzalez include child abuse, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell, illegal possession of a firearm, possession of Schedule V narcotics with intent, and possession of drug paraphernalia, summing to a total bond of $115,000. Michael Gonzalez faced similar charges related to child abuse, drug possession with intent to sell, driving while in possession of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia possession, carrying a total bond of $85,000. Following the arrests, the Department of Children's Services was notified, and the child was released to a relative.
