
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, Communications Bureau is celebrating the hard work and dedication of its newest graduates from the Public Safety Telecommunicator (PST) Training Academy. PST Class 25-01, consisting of 12 Police Complaint Officers and four Police Dispatchers, have successfully completed their rigorous 16-week training program and are set to receive their certificates of completion, according to Miami-Dade County's announcement.
The comprehensive training included a curriculum mandated by the Florida Department of Health for PST Certification, along with protocols for Emergency Medical Dispatch and CPR, alongside a deep dive into Miami-Dade County's geography and the department's policy. These officers manage a staggering 2.2 million 911 calls per year, furthermore, the dispatchers are tasked with handling the more than 51 million radio transmissions received annually.
The graduation ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, Fred Taylor Headquarters Building located at 9105 NW 25 Street, Doral, Florida. Community members and media are invited to join the Sheriff’s Office in congratulating the new graduates who are now ready, to serve the public fittingly.
