A Miami individual is now facing charges that extend the boundaries of the horrific. Osher Joshua Pittman, 21, previously detained for alleged sexual battery of an 8-year-old child and possession of child sexual abuse material, has been charged again. This time, he is accused of filming himself molesting a baby. In a report by Local 10, police alleged that the videos, discovered during cellphone data extraction for a prior case, depict Pittman in his Allapattah bedroom, partaking in sexual battery of a baby girl.
Detailing the investigation progress, Miami Police reported the infant was not related to Pittman and had been left under the care of his mother occasionally. The Miami Police Department managed to swiftly and conclusively recognize distinctive elements of Pittman's bedroom in the footage to substantiate their accusations. A statement obtained by NBC Miami details how their scrutiny led to the pressing of two counts of child sexual battery against Pittman related to the infant victim.
Additional charges have been laid as part of this expanded inquiry. The accused faces two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child, and four counts of directing or promoting a sexual performance by a child.
Since his initial arrest on May 28, Pittman has remained held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. With the case's details now publicly unfolding, Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales underlined, "The dedication of our SVU detectives in pursuing every lead has been instrumental in bringing these charges." This insistence echoed in his statement to NBC Miami, "We remain committed to protecting our community's most vulnerable and ensuring justice for all victims".
