The Escondido community can breathe a collective sigh of relief as Marilu Pimentel Aguirre, the 66-year-old Hispanic woman who went missing recently, has been found safe and sound. Following an urgent public assistance appeal, the Escondido Police Department announced her return via social media. Authorities thanked everyone involved: "The missing person, Marilu, has been located and reunited with family. Thank you for your concern and assistance."
Before the resolution of her disappearance, the situation had been tense. Marilu Pimentel Aguirre was last observed at around 6:30 PM in the 1100 block of N. Escondido Boulevard, as detailed by the initial Hoodline report. Her at-risk status, due to medical conditions including dementia and diabetes, amplified the urgency of locating her, as she was dependent on medication.
The information provided by the police described her as last seen wearing a white floral blouse and black pants. Concerned citizens and the police had been on high alert, knowing that every moment was critical for her well-being.
