Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway announced the conviction of Jerry Fellers, owner of Build Tech Structures, in a barn and greenhouse construction scam. Fellers faced 15 felony counts related to defrauding consumers of more than $158,000. He pled guilty, and the court issued its sentence last Wednesday, as reported by the Attorney General's office.
Fellers’ company accepted large deposits for the construction of barns and greenhouses, but the work provided was minimal or did not occur. He was sentenced to twelve years, suspended, with five years of supervised probation. Additionally, he was ordered to pay $158,102.60 in restitution to the victims.
In an effort to assist other possible victims, Hanaway's office encourages those who suspect they have been defrauded by Build Tech Structures, or Jerry Fellers himself, to come forward and contact the Consumer Protection Section. Individuals are urged to call 800-392-8222 or file their complaints online.
