A motorcyclist in Boca Raton has died after reportedly shooting himself during a police pursuit. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) began the chase after attempting to stop the motorcyclist for reckless driving near Yamato Road and Technology Way, according to CBS12.

FHP Aviation assisted ground units with aerial support as the pursuit continued. WPBF reports that the chase ended near a plaza where the motorcyclist produced a firearm and shot himself in the head.

He was taken to Broward North Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Although FHP initially described him as alert and responsive, his condition worsened, and he was later pronounced dead.
