
The Murfreesboro Police Department’s Special Investigations Section, supported by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Human Trafficking Unit, conducted a sting operation on October 23 and 24 targeting online predators. Jason Roberts, 51, and Mark Boyd, 42, were arrested for attempting to meet minors for illegal encounters, as reported by the Murfreesboro Tennessee Police Department.
Police reported that both men arrived at local hotels expecting to meet underage girls, unaware the meetings were a setup. The coordinated operation led to their immediate apprehension and potential serious legal consequences, as stated by the Murfreesboro Tennessee Police Department.
According to the Murfreesboro Tennessee Police Department on their Facebook page, Roberts and Boyd were arrested on charges of patronizing prostitution of a minor, with Boyd also charged with simple possession and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Following their arrests, they were taken to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. Bond was set at $45,000 for Roberts and $50,000 for Boyd, and both were released pending court proceedings. They are scheduled to appear in Rutherford County General Sessions Court on December 10.
